Rock-climbing
Hacia la Foradada

The craggy, uneven landscape of Mont-ral, provides a series of vertical walls and steep inclines ideal for rock climbing. Since the 80´s this sport has been popular in the Prades mountains and also in Mont-ral and so numerous climbs are now available.

Nowadays, we can estimate that there are over 300 possible routes cutting across the cliff faces of this area and that, together with the mountain area of Prados, it has become a point of interest for climbers from all five continents.

The main sites for climbing in the Mont-ral region are:
El Cingle Ser (below the village itself)
La Mola Roquerola
La Roca Mulnera
(at Farena)
Hacia la Foradada
Pot-holing
In terms of pot-holing, officially-speaking, the region of Mont-ral isn´t known its for large cavities but there are caves and archaeological sites that are interesting for their length as well as their depth.
These places, for pot-holers of a high level, were formed as a result of specific geological conditions that affect limestone areas and create a great network of underground cavities.
One of the most important phenomenons of the area is Els Motllats: at a height of 1.023 metres, a natural platform extending 5 Km2 makes its way through the middle of the Prades mountains, keeping inside many pot-holing secrets yet to be discovered.
Canyoning by the Glorieta river
The upper ravine of the Glorieta river, offers a great opportunity for a descent. It is an easy route and with the right equipment, perfect for a first timer. It is not possible to hire equipment for this locally, it will need to be brought by the group.
