Mont-ral |
In the village of Mont-ral, on top of a hill that holds all the buildings of the area, is the parish church dedicated to St Peter, the patron of the village. The ancient building is of roman-style, and the side door and vault are the originals from the 18th century when the church was rebuilt, and also the time of the installation of the bell. A terrace in front of the doorway is a good viewing point for all the surrounding countryside of Tarragona.
The forty or so houses that make up the population, some of them restored and used as holiday homes, are situated on the steps of the slope of the hill along the main street.

Fonts del Glorieta |
This beautiful spot is formed by a succession of crystal clear rock pools and waterfalls. You start at the old football pitch a few metres from Guayrapá and follow the path which gently heads east down through the Mediterranean woods of the region. After passing two electric pylons, the path takes a right curve and Mont-rals church can be seen on the hilltop ahead. A few metres later you pass a third pylon and at this point take a narrow path that heads left. In less than 200m you come across another path (PR) indicated by yellow and white painted stripes. Follow this small valley path towards the left. Almost 250m later (at an open space) there is another fork and you take the left path indicated by blue, white and yellow stripes. Within a few metres the path turns left following the flow of the Glorieta River, keep going, go down the stone steps which make the uneven descent a little easier. You will pass a rock face and then enter a thicket and 300m further ahead to the right, various paths head off in different directions. Take the one that is sign-posted with a blue arrow and you will reach a point where several paths will take you down to the river bank on a level with the fountains of Glorieta.

Niu de lÀliga |
This is a huge pool, fed by a spectacular waterfall. You follow the same route as before but at the point where the paths lead to the river bank, you continue downwards on the PR path, passing an abandoned waterway. Sticking to the PR, you will come across the ruins of an old watermill, here take the left path that goes down to the river and brings you to Niu de lÀliga. |

Toll de lOlla |
To reach this pretty pool on the river Brugent, walled by rocky cliffs and fed by a waterfall, you need to take the Alcocer- Capafonts road (TV 7041) towards Capafonts. Roughly 6 Km from Mont-ral there is a crossroads where the road on the right will take you to Farena. About 2 Km ahead, you come to a right hand bend in a woody area. To the left of the bend, a forest track starts which after a short distance is chained off to prevent cars from passing. You can park here and there is a 15-20 minute walk through the pine forest. Going against the flow of the river, follow its route keeping the water on your left. You will reach a clearer match of land which is closer to the riverbed and following the narrow footpath for a few metres, you will then arrive at El Toll de lOlla. |

Avencs de la Febró |

From Mont-ral take the local road TV7045 that goes through the tiny villages of El Bosquet and lAixavega. After 7Km you get to a crossroads where you take a right turn. 3Km later on the left, you meet the La Mussara road. After some 700m you will see the ruins of this abandoned village. Here you can stop at the viewing area to admire the amazing panoramic view towards the south.
To get to the caves of Febró, go straight over the crossroads and within 1Km leave the road to take a forest track on the right. After about 700m, already in a pine forest, there is a clear cross in the tracks where you leave the car and carry on on foot. 300m ahead you take the right hand path that reaches the caves after about 300m, the entrance is quite camouflaged. From here, there is a great view of the village of La Febró.

La Foradada |
This looks like a huge open window that overlooks some of the most spectacular views in the area. To the west, the hill on which Mont-ral sits, is criss-crossed with walking paths (the GR-7 and other PRs) all very well sign-posted. One of the signs shows the route to La Foradada, which heads upwards and eastwards following the top of a small mountain. After about 800m we reach a place named Punta Coroneta, from here it is possible to see a panoramic view of Mont-ral and surrounding mountain ranges. We carry on the climb without leaving the path, which is marked by painted red circles. 1Km later we get to a fork in the path and a small wooden signpost shows us which direction to take next. We are now on flatter ground and in a few hundred metres we reach La Foradada.

El Bosquet |
You can get there from Mont-ral, following the road to la Mussarar. El Bosquet is a cluster of rural-style houses found under the rocky wall of Els Motllats. |
Aixàviga |
Very close to El Bosquet, at the point where the rivers Sec and Font Fresca meet, you can find the small village of lAixàviga, made up of a single street of well-preserved stone houses. A medieval house stands out, with a porch and large decorated windows that was once the summer house of the Count of Prades.

Farena |
| This is the most important core population in the county of Mont-ral situated at an opening of the Brugent river and offers a unique countryside. Although Farena castle has practically disappeared, the houses that make up the village have been tastefully restored following the line of the old wall, an arrangement which maintains the feel of a walled town. In the upper part of the village you can find the roman church of St Andrew, probably from the 12th century. Inside, it is possible to see the mural painted by Anton Català of Alcocer, undertaken in 1946. |
La Mussara |
| This abandoned village 7Km from Mont-ral and 1000m above sea level, is without doubt the best mountain viewing area to see the largest area of the Tarragona coastline and all of the area known as el Camp de Tarragona. |

Prades, the village |
| This small town in the Baix Camp region is found 950m above sea level, in the middle of a plateau between el Tossasl de la Baltasasna and la Sierra de la Gritella. In the old days, this town was surrounded by a red sandstone wall, which was the reason for also being called Vila Vermella. The war of Els Segadors brought down a large part of the wall and its towers, but you can still see a few sections and two doorways, one facing North on the road to Vilanova de Prades and the other Southeast, attached on one side to the walls of the church. |

Siurana |
An old Arab settlement, this is without doubt one of the prettiest spots in the whole of the Sierra de Prades. Surrounded by cliffs and balanced on a dam of the same name, this village offers us a magnificent view.

The parish church, dedicated to the Assumption of María, is of modern construction and its bell tower is yet to be completed. About 3Km northwest of Mont-ral, following the valley of the Glorieta rivers, you can find the hermitage of Ntra. Sra. Del Remei.

Beaches |
From the local road you head towards Alcover and from there, take any of the roads to Tarragona, which will lead you to the N-340 to Barcelona. From this you will see signs for the beaches LArrabassada, La Savinosa (nudist) and Platja Llarga.
If you carry on further along the N-340, you will pass a junction for the urbanizacion de la Mora and immediately after, there is a narrow street on the right, signposted as access to the camping Torre de la Mora. Take this street , go under a railway bridge and a little after you head into a pine forest. There is a space to park the car about 800m ahead. Take any of the right hand paths into the pine forest and take one of the paths that leads towards the sea front, verging slightly to the left. After a little more than 1Km, to your right you will see the sea. Keep in that direction and you will reach the beach la Roca Plana (nudist), formed from several small coves. If you keep walking through the pines along the line of the coast, its not long before you get to the beaches Cala Fonda or Waikiki (nudist), shorter but more sheltered.
